Nanny cam exposes abuse, parents sue to recover damages

No loving parent can stand by without acting when their child is harmed.  No parent should have to tolerate that.  When parents hire caregivers for their children, parents, or themselves, that caregiver is entrusted with a near sacred duty to preserve the health, dignity, and vitality of a loved one.  When that duty is breached, the harm can be tremendous in both physical pain, but also emotional turmoil.

One couple, betrayed by their nanny, decided to sue to recover damages they uncovered through a hidden "nanny cam" which recorded the nanny choking and shaking their daughter while she was in a high chair.

The couple hired their nanny through an agency which claimed to have conducted a background check.  The parents, naturally, relied on that information when hiring the nanny.  The parents are suing the nanny company for negligently hiring the violent nanny as well as for fraud for claiming to have conducted a competent background check to prevent such a terrible outcome.

In total, the parents seek recovery for nine claims including emotional damages.
