The MineolaAmerican reports that a local wholesale car dealership which does business with Carmax, a large consumer-oriented car reseller and purchaser, has sued the massive dealer for anti-trust violations stemming from their refusal to allow dealers to supply car history reports from any information company rather than Carmax's preferred vendor(s).
Alleging that Carmax's reports are lacking the quality that other reports may contain. Further, wholesale car dealership alleges that Carmax distorts the car market and exerts unfair influence on car dealerships and the entire marketplace through their policies.
Honestly, in my opinion, based on the very limited information here, is that these dealerships are improperly alleging anti-trust violations for market success. Wholesale car dealers do not have to do business with Carmax. Carmax's marketshare is not so large that they dominate the industry. Rather, Carmax is one big player in a market among many others. These claims seem to be poorly formed.
